Sandy Kane has had a varied business career, starting in 1965 with Bloomingdales (3 years), IBM (5 ½ years), Singer Business Systems (1 year) and the Data Source division of Hercules Chemical (1 year). In August of 1976 he bought Bernco Specialty Advertising and built it into one of the larger Long Island Promotional Products distributorships, working with a number of major Long Island and New York City based corporations.

Sandy’s involvement with charity began with Happiness is Camping (Pediatric Cancer) and the SAAGNY Foundation and he then joined their board, starting a comparable event at Camp Sunrise in Melville. He also sat on the board of Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect for a number of years.

After successfully beating Prostate Cancer in 2004 he started LI Cruizin’ For A Cure, creating an annual classic car show to provide free PSA testing for the early detection of Prostate Cancer on Long Island. This event is still running every September and providing free PSA testing. Shortly thereafter he became involved with the LI Fight For Charity and was invited to join the board of LI Community Chest in 2006.
